Question

My family and I are going to go to New York in the beginning of July, and so I get to go the AGPNY! Yippee I am sooo excited (even though it's quite a while off) I have never gone to any AG place before, so I would appreciate any tips.

*How many days do you think I would need at AG place?

*Any good restaurants / hotels/ places to go that you would recommend?

*Any places where my dad and brother could go while I'm shopping at AG place? (they don't understand how I could possibly need more then a day there! )

Thanks so much!

-Gracie

Living in Deep South, I can only dream of going to AG Place...(we're in the middle of building another new house). You're soooo lucky!

You are sooo lucky. I have dreamed of going to AG place since they first opened. Since we live in KY the closest is in Chicago and that is still a long way away. I have begged my parents for years to take me and now that I am 26 I guess I will have to plan my own trip there! I don't have any suggestions other than enjoy yourself and take your dolls and take tons of pictures! Have a blast and think of those still dreaming

I just spent one day there...but it was the WHOLE day, though. My mom and I did the "Day at AGP" package where we could see the the Revue, eat dinner at the caf?, and also get spending vouchers. Just make sure you bring a doll and your !

And if you get up EARLY, you can make it to the Today show at Rockefeller Center. Just make sure you eat something before you go...otherwise you'll be starving during the whole thing.

Oh, and don't forget to visit the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Ellis Island, the Metropolitan Museum of Art (though I haven't been here yet), and the Museum of Modern Art (haven't been here either).

I live right here in New York City in the heart of it all, Astoria Queens NY, 15-20 mins away from AGPNY. So if you would like your own tour guide let me know, i'll do it for nothing lol. Just give me a holla on here and let me know. There is way too much to name lol.

Dear Gracie,
Good for you! You will have a GREAT time in NY. I don't know how old your brother is but there is a great Build A Bear a few blocks away from AG Place. Also, you might want to call the NY store and tell them you are coming and ask if a personal shopper will have free time to meet with you. The personal shoppers are great-- they give you a little tour and put aside any of your purchases so you don't have to wait in a line at the register. Also, if you are planning to go anywhere but the store, you can check all your purchases at the coat check place and then pick them up later in the day--- that way you won't have to tote them around the city. Lastly, if you buy a doll and are tempted to ditch the box so you have less to carry, don't do it --- keep your box and take it with you because someday it will make your doll that much more valuable. Have fun planning your trip!!!
One more thing, if you want to eat in the cafe, you should make reservations now because they book WAY in advance.

You are going to have so much fun Gracie! We are going for our 2nd time April 7th and 8th and DD is just too excited. You can do it in one day, but we liked to go back several times during the day on our first trip!

My DD really liked Central Park, the Aquarium, Toys R Us, FAO, & the Disney Store. This time I think we will take a carriage ride! We also need to go to Build a Bear too because it wasn't opened last year when we were there.

Have a wonderful trip!

Shelly

We stayed at the Hotel Inner-Contiental and they have a neat American Girl package that gives the dolls a bed, the yellow trundel to sleep in during their stay, and a bathrobe. DD also got a little package full of little AG stuff, and at night she got milk and cookies! There are several hotels in NY that have different AG packages, so you may want to check them out. We have stayed in this hotel on several other occasions, and really like it a lot.
